“I’ve re-evaluated WHY I work out”

I recently received the following email, and I just had to share it because this woman completely nailed it. I desperately wish every female could view their health and fitness from this vantage point.

When Healthy Becomes Unhealthy

So often we are trying desperately to lose the pounds, and we live and die by the number on the scale. It almost starts to haunt us – an all-consuming goal that makes us feel like we are on a roller coaster because it completely dictates our day. We wake up in the morning, step on the scale, and those numbers staring back to us determine our mood, our day. Energy Bites

A good friend clued me in to these treats. They satisfy your sweet tooth while still having great health benefits. Added bonus is that the kiddos love them too! So the next time you get a craving, give these a whirl.

1 cup (dry) oatmeal

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup ground flax seed

1/4 cup chia seeds

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

1/3 cup raw honey

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix everything together. Roll into balls. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. I mean seriously – piece of cake!
